Hon. Zel Fischer was appointed to the Supreme Court of Missouri in 2008. Fischer’s judicial assignments have included sitting with the Missouri Court of Appeals and numerous circuit courts.
Fischer served as associate circuit judge in Atchison County. Fischer graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law and was admitted to The Missouri Bar in 1988.
Fischer is a current or former member of 4th Judicial Circuit Bar Association, Platte County Bar Association, Clay County Bar Association, Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys, Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, Springfield Metropolitan Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. Fischer previously served on the Board of Directors of the Conference of Chief Justices and is currently president and chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Courts and Sciences Institute. He also serves on the national advisory board of the University of North Carolina – Bryson Center for Judicial Education.
