Background

Judge Midkiff was appointed circuit judge in March 2002. She received her bachelor’s degree in 1972 from Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois. In 1975 she graduated with honors from the University of Missouri – Kansas City School of Law. Judge Midkiff owned and operated a private law practice from 1975 until her appointment to the bench. In her 26 years of private practice, she litigated many different types of cases, including employment discrimination, civil rights, sexual harassment, and business and commercial torts.
