Background

Judge Richard Stewart was appointed circuit judge in May 2019 after three years as an associate circuit judge for the 21st Judicial Circuit. Judge Stewart earned a B.S.B.A. from the University of Missouri-Columbia and J.D. from Saint Louis University.

Stewart is a member of the Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, the St. Louis Lawyers Association and the St. Louis County Bar Association.  He is also an active member of his court’s Criminal Justice Committee, Surcharge Committee, and a participant in their court Truancy Reduction Program for the Hancock Place School District.
