Background

Judge Mary Weir was appointed as associate circuit judge to the 16th Judicial Circuit Court in May 2013. Judge Weir received her B.A. degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and her J.D. from Washburn University School of Law. As an associate circuit judge, she handles civil, domestic and criminal pre-trial proceedings using primarily form judgements or those submitted by counsel.

Judge Weir has also served as an adjunct professor at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law. In addition to her professional affiliations and activities, Judge Weir is a board member of Lawyers Encouraging Academic Performance (LEAP), volunteer faculty with the National Immigrant Women’s Advocacy Project, and a member of St. Francis Xavier Church-Kansas City, Independence Coordinated Community Council and Lee’s Summit Coordinated Community Council.
