Background
Judge Jeffrey L. Bushur was appointed as associate circuit judge for the 16th Judicial Circuit in July 2000. He earned his bachelor’s degree in philosophy and communication studies from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 1983, and his law degree in 1986 from the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
Judge Bushur is a member of the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association; Eastern Jackson County Bar Association; Missouri Trial Judge Education Committee; Advanced Science and Technology Resource Judge (ASTAR); and the Supreme Court of Missouri’s Combating Human Trafficking and Domestic Violence Commission. Judge Bushur served on the Missouri Supreme Court and Missouri Bar Joint Task Force on the Future of the Profession in 2016. Judge Bushur has presented lectures at the annual Judicial Trial College and other judicial education programs. He serves on the Sixteenth Circuit’s Executive Management Committee, Rules Committee and Budget Committee.
He is active in Unbound, Trout Unlimited, Kid’s Fishing Program and various faith activities.
